Until AMD and Intel opened their specs, NVIDIA was the Linux graphics king. Now it's in your hands who gets the crown.
algunas veces , me gustaria k nvidia trabajara de forma mas feasiente en linux sobretodo con ubuntu, ya que esta creciendo de forma increible a mayor desarroyo mayor exito entre consumidores...
+1
this would be nice.
LET IT BE DAM YOU!!!
free thyself!
we want oper drivers
Apoyo esta propuesta totalmente
Please, I need these drivers nVIDIA.
Time to write appropriate drivers for ALL platforms. I've paid for hardware, and I want it working in my choice of OS
I agree that: your closed-source/non-free drivers are of good quality. But I believe released them under the GPL or X11 would be in every ones best interest. Also, people installing nVidia cards in Linux boxes will be able to instantly take advantage of your performance.
We, from the open community, have the hopeless certain that the nice sense will win this request. We all waitting for the great step for both: The Open Community and NVidia Corporation.
Opening your drivers can do you a lot of good.
For a free desktop without compromise !
I wish I could buy only hardware with open drivers.
Slackware GNU Linux User.
Open Source is the way of the future. Please NVIDIA support us.
The Bulgarian children needs stable drivers for gaming. I support many home users with NVIDIA video cards.
World goes to open source...
Viva la OSS!
For better drivers :-)
As a user of Nvidia cards since the GeForce 256, the only sticking point has been the lack of open source drivers. The situation where the kernel developers cannot debug possible display related kernel bugs when the Nvidia kernel modules are employed creates a situation where each can lay the blame for a problem at the feet of the other, and nothing gets done as a result. The other aspect is at the application level, where Nvidia's choice of GL libraries is not always compatible with the application's dependencies. The lack of accelerated open source drivers ensures that this situation is perpetuated. The development speed of open source drivers and their general quality equals or exceeds those of closed source code due to the sheer number of interested developers. Your commercial development obligations are no longer a compelling reason for retaining in-house control, as without matching levels of kernel development coordination, there can never be true assurance that the resulting combination is stable.
I'm particularly affected because lots of things simply Don't Work on my notebook's Quadro NVS140M (hibernate fails to wake, brightness control fails, 3D status is unclear). Most could probably be fixed with the right configuration settings; however, since nobody really knows what's happening, these settings don't work reliably. In all, a gruesome experience, and I'd advice against buying a notebook with the same video card right now.
Opening your drivers can do you a lot of good.
Free software for the free world.
Not bragging all we're asking for is some support and help ...
Nvidia drivers are good, but Free Nvidia drivers will be better :) (sorry for my english)
You have to be the best ?!
I have always preferred Nvidia's products over ATi's. I would say that Nvidia's proprietary driver is good too. However, it is still proprietary. As a Linux programmer I like to know what code exactly is in my kernel while having a nice Compiz/nvidia accelerated desktop.
When your competitors have free software drivers available, who do you think I'll be buying my hardware from?
I have always purchased nvidia cards in the past. As a Linux user however, open drivers will play a big part in my purchase decisions in the future. Please open your drivers.
Apoyo totalmente la creación de drivers que no sean propietarios.
Thanks for this, not as SIS:-)
Pleeease!

We hope you visualize the future market range your video cards will reach when people be able to work with open drivers for them. Thanks in advance.
libera nos a malo !!!!
Pronto!!! por favor...!
