I think its time to bite the bullet and do whatever you have to vis-a-vis copyrights, and at least give us enough info to let us write drivers that can make use of all the hardware's capabilities. I follow kernel development closely, and I'm now stuck and cannot use anything newer than 2.6.24 final as 169.(09/12) will not build on any post 2.6.24 kerrnel.
