Please make your drivers opensource.
It is very important to make your drivers open for the community and YOUR customers. Linux and OpenSource are getting more important for the world and because of that, nobody will buy Nvidia products if the drivers are bad and the costumer cannot use all functions who he had paid for.
A good product needs good support - the future IS open source.thank you!
give the devs the docu please
Please comply to the conditions of the GPL and open your binary driver. If this is no option, please support at least projects like Nouveau.
I think having an out-of-the-box open source driver is crucial. As I choose, whenever possible, Intel graphic solutions to get open source drivers which just work. I am looking at ATIs driver development very interested since they opened their documentation.
nVidia owner since riva TNT and I want Open Source drivers for the best OS.
I've a PowerBook G4 12" (Nvidia Graficchip) and can't use any suspend mode.
Nice Video Adapters. Get OpenSource API.
time to open up
My laptop is powered by an NV11 chip (legacy chip but still working). Suspending does not work out the box. My next laptop will definitely have working hardware out of the box of my favorite GNU/Linux distribution. I hope that NVIDIA will support the FOSS community further!
Also requested that there is no difference in driver functionality between the various OS platforms (i.e. use of VC1 and H.264 hw acceleration on Linux, Unix and OSX operating systems
Make it open-source.That would be a good business in future. Think about it. The world is changing, everytime, everywhere.

I only use nvidia graphics hardware because its linux drivers are superior to those of AMD/ATI. I fear this might change, though, if nvidia does not provide enough documentation to create open source drivers.
ayuden al código abierto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please do this Nvidia, you are the best video graphics hardware manufacturer. It only makes sense to do this for all of our sake

Dear NVIDIA, Do read the letter and act :)
Please, Please, Please
Cool! NVIDIA Please!!!
Please support the opensource community!
Please, dudes: make all of your drivers open source...
If you think about it, you do not really have a choice, even, except to open your drivers. Otherwise your customers will think you have to hide something, because you are not really in the software business, are you?
Stay competitive in the OSS community. I've seen nothing but good products from the company, now how about some code?
I'd very much like this to happen.
These bits are used by a large number of desktops in both offices and homes and there is really no reason not to consider opening them up for FOSS developers to work on getting them to work with Linux and like OS. It would be wonderful if you would think about the "market you gain" rather than the "shares you lose". Think over it. Please

Following Intel and AMD, Nvidia should also support Free Software.
come on please open the driver
thank you
The boost of your popularity within the open source community would be tremendous.
Signed. I have a 6600 GT and a 7800 GT sitting in a box in the corner since I became an open source purist.
un grand fabricantde puce doit etre a l ecoute du marché et des utilisateur, le monde linux explose de par les utilisateur,il ne tiens qu a vous d ecouté les utilisateur,et le marché potentiel
bad linux drivers were my main reason not to buy an amd/ati graphics card, but since they opened their specifications nvidia has to catch up to stay competitive
estoy de acuerdo
Plese, let the users be free to choose alternatives from the OS Panorama. Thaks
I use a NVidia 8600GT.
As long no open source Nvidia drivers are available I will go on buying Intel or AMD/ATI graphic cards !!
As as swedish user of Linux and Xorg ontop of that. I'd like to see an equivalent move towards supporting the OSS Developers in the ways of Intel and AMD/ATI. Today if you want to get decent 3D acceleration support on Linux/Xorg you must install the binary driver nvidia provide. An other factor due to this is that since nvidia's closed-source driver uses a custom libGL and other kernel things in its module. Is that a setup of a spanned desktop with lets say two different GPUs with 3D acceleration is totally impossible. Since Mesa based drivers (Intel/ATI(Open-Source drivers)/other OSS 3D driver supported card) only works with mesa's libGL. And if nvidia's driver is installed the mesa-based drivers will fail and can't work. so you got a choice. have 3D accel on the intel card or the nvidia. but not both. This is really sad. End of rant
Please!
yeap, please make it open
Opening the drivers helps people with older cards and alternative platforms. Make it easier for developers to support your hardware.
