I use nvidia video cards currently only grudgingly and by necessity. If there were GPL drivers, I would be using them happily. Expect me to lean to intel and amd if you continue tainting my kernel.

If you are against the creation of an open driver by NVIDIA employees, sharing some documentation of NVIDIA hardware would be a big ste forward, and help compete against ATI. I love NVIDIA, don't send me to ATI! I don't want to switch!

I have a GF2 MX400. nVidia dumped support for this in the same release they figured out how to make their blob run compiz properly - so I dumped my support of them and got an i915 instead. My next card's going to be a Radeon for certain, nVidia's got a lot of catching up to do if they want my money in future.

NVIDIA would be hailed among the open source community as an open source hardware vendor, which generates very good press. Sales will go up. The public reputation of your company will increase tenfold.
I use a 6800GT, and the drivers work well so far, but there are many areas to be improved upon. Open drivers would be great!

It would be nice to have nvidia 3d driver support by default instead of having to go through a roundabout process to obtain the same. This can only be done if you open source your drivers. Thanks NVIDIA, for the love you've always shown Linux Users.

I agree with this idea to assist in development of further graphics programs and also this can help get more support with more than a limited number of individual minds allow more robust and complete concepts.

Even if there isn't perfect 3D acceleration, I would prefer a stable open source driver over an unstable proprietary one any day. How would windows users feel if they had to change system configuration files to even get basic video output?
I have bought and recommended NVIDIA graphics cards on the basis that their driver support is better under Linux. Of course, with open source AMD drivers, my buying choice will be reversed.

As an avid supporter of the open source community, I find it frustrating that I am constrained to the use of ATI, a gpu of which i am not a big fan. Please support the Open Source Community!
