Main reason I buy nvidia was because of the better linux support (and recommend nv for same reason). Now that OSS versions of ATI are appearing they will start to get the recommendation not NV.

I bought a laptop with an ATI card just so I could get better use out of it due to open sourced drivers on Ubuntu. This is unfortunate, as I otherwise prefer nvidia harware.
