Good documentation would go a long way to help the open source community. I'm also sure that the binary blob contains code that could be open sourced. Please consider helping Linux/Unix users with documentation, funding for the open source drivers, and less black box offical drivers
6 systems running Linux with Nvidia here. But lack of open drivers means we feel the pain sometimes. As the competition open and improves their Linux offerings you can bet I'll be looking harder at them the next time I shop for a laptop.
I'm an Ubuntu user and the next I buy a computer I would like to be able to buy one which has an Nvidia card. Please collaborate! Thank you
It is always sad to be put into a position of choosing between license terms and features/performance when considering a graphics card for a linux system.
The outcome of this decision will determine what type of laptops I will be purchasing in the near future
for the world free
I use nVidia exclusively in my machines, and I am in the process of switching, totally away from WIN platform, to GNU/Linux, for good. Open-source and freedom of information are the main drive behind this...please, nVidia, do /your/ part...
Better for all!
please open up at least your specs or what would be even cooler release your current driver under an gpl license
My new computer has a Radeon graphics card because I value software freedom. ATI has given so little, that Nvidia could easily beat them. I would love to go back to Nvidia, but I refuse to do so as long as ATI is releasing specs and Nvidia isn't.
The cairo graphics can gain from make the drivers Open Source
Please support open source!
Greetings from Bosnia ;)
This could help advance homebrew drivers for better gaming heck yes.
Libérons nos cartes...
Free drives
Support free and open projects for GNU/Linux Nvidia Drivers is the best marketing action you could do.
Por un mundo con gente libre
I love your hardware, please open up the drivers!
POr favor, liberen el codigo
Agree with the signature. NVidia, please, open your divers, or at least, let people know about APIS.
+1
I'm accord to this letter and think to be a greater idea. I have a FX5200 graphic card on Kubuntu, I like my Nvidia and hope to open yours driver's. Thank you.
Linux is not only the future but today's reality also... ask Dell
The 3D Desktop fever is a great time to sell you products. Please share.
Yes, I am little bored of all the problems related with the fact of hiding information. I hope you will hear us
I only use linux.
Det kunne være rart
stop sucking nVidia and grow up!

HOLA soy de argentina y yo estaria muy agradecido porque yo compro sus targetas y no ati por eso me gustaria mucho que tubieran el mismo o mejor soporte que tiene para windows , desde ya muchas gracias
I use only NVIDIA Graphics Cards since i got my Riva128, at that time standing up agains the whole 3DFX / Glide world clinging to the few D3D supported games at tha time. Now decades later I am seriously considering an ATI/AMD card. I'll see where NVIDIA stands when the ATI OSS drivers are mature. I really hope NVIDIA will have something ready at that time to stay competitive in the growing Linux/BSD market.
Greetings from Barcelona
GNU/Linux user.
El conocimiento te hace Sabio, la Generosidad, Libre.
Nice idea.
deseo que nvidia entienda que para nosotros la libertad es un fin y los drivers son solo un medio mas para alcanzarla gracias anticipadas a nvidia por su colaboracion
For the past decade all I buy is nVidia, and their attention to the linux community has been a factor, but it's time to open the drivers
My Signature
You can do it!!
a wish from spain. to be strongest together. thanks nvidia
Please, do it.
This would be one more reason to turn to a linux only computer :)
Hoorah!
drivers xa!
I have always preferred nVidia's hardware over ATi's. This move made by ATi to support open driver development is making me consider their hardware over nVidia's. My next card _will_ be ATi if things don't change.
